Marvel Pick of the Week:

Cable #1

$3.99

WALK SOFTLY...AND CARRY A BIG GUN! CABLE sees the mighty mutant return on a brand-new mission...with all of time in the balance! When Cable picks up the trail of a threat in the timestream, he sets off on a high-speed, history-spanning chase to save reality as we know it. From prehistory to modern day, whether it's a six-gun duel at high noon or a high-tech sword fight in an ancient land, Cable is the only man who can keep history from unraveling! Rated T+

What Red Shirt Comics says:

Cable has been many things to many writers and even more to the readers. This book has some fun sequences, but the best thing it has is restraint. It very easily could have been a sad rehash of a 90s over the top action book with oversized guns and too many pouches, but much like Dale Keown's wonderful cover art, maturity shines through. Make no mistake, this is definitely the Cable of old, but instead of Dirty Harry from Sudden Impact we get Bill Munny from Unforgiven. For a number one issue, I'd have liked a little extra content. The book goes by a bit too quickly but the solid art is able to drive some emotion, particularly at the start of the third act, and it teases a much longer tale. What's presented here is compelling and certainly provides a good cliffhanger. I'm definitely looking forward to issue 2. But why wait when you can time travel?

Rick is the only thing that stands between our world and an alien invasion. Surely he'll do something about it! Or, sh*t, maybe Jerry will.

What Red Shirt Comics says:

Who needs to review Rick and Morty?? If you don't know how awesome this book is then you probably live in a cave and have no idea how awesomer (no, that's not a word) the show is.

"Wow, I really Cronenberged up the whole place, huh Morty? Just a bunch a Cronenbergs walkin' around." - Rick
